1. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you create an account (name, email address) and the results of assessments you take (quiz answers, scores). We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and debugging purposes.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to: (a) operate the SkillVerify platform, (b) issue and verify certificates, (c) improve our question banks and assessment quality, and (d) send essential transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation). We do not sell your personal data.
3. Certificate visibility
Certificates are public by default, meaning anyone with your certificate UUID can view it at /verify/[uuid]. You can set your certificate to private from your dashboard at any time, which will prevent public verification.
4. Data retention
We retain your account data and certificate records for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymous aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.
5. Third-party services
We use Supabase for authentication and database storage (subject to their privacy policy). If Upstash Redis is configured, it may process request metadata for rate limiting. No data is shared with advertisers.
6. Cookies
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. These are strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of while using the authenticated parts of the service. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@skillverify.app. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify registered users via email of any material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
